Yes, using the XmlReader enhancement in yogurtearl's thread. You can use a mapping function to extract the feed elements and return a string Array.
You only need a totalnumber of records element if you are paging, and only recieving fragments of the data at a time. And it can go anywhere; DomQuery can extract it from anywhere.
