Hi,
I recently upgraded from XBMC v1.0.0 to v2.0.1 and replaced standard HDD for Seagate 80Gb.
My Xbox is v1.6 or 1.6b (can't remember off hand) with Xenium MODchip.
My Xbox will now not play XviD or DivX, it just crashes.
Is this a common problem or is it related to my hardware. ???
Relatively new to the modification of xbox's but competant with electronics. Please provide some assistance.

i had the same problem with smb shares co signing about the zero data cached try resharing the folder the videos are in (worked for me) this would be the problem if you originally shared the folder and then added more files this is also the case with music not playing :)

right, did a search on that error in the forum. and they fixed it by dumping the database. delete the myvideo file in userdata.

Thanks for your advice. Unfortunately, I still only get about 5% of my videos running. Maybe, some more information on my setting:
I am using n external FAT32-formatted USB drive over a file server. The XBOX is able to read the files (via SMB). Unfortunately, only 1-2 movies play, the remaining will not. There is no error message and the xbox doesn't freeze either. Please see my log-file. Any help is highly appreciated!!!

I have narrowed the problem down to being with XBMC v2.0.1. I have installed v1.1.0 as a program and it plays XviD and DivX without fault. As there is no longer a hardware issue can anyone shed light on the matter?

Find where the XBMC is installed (usually E:APPSXBMC), go into UserData and delete the myvideo files. This worked perfectly for me - Thanks elupus:grin:

- Database-folder
- lyrics-folder
- playlists-folder
- Thumbnails-folder
- Visualisations-folder
- guisettings.xml
- Keymap.xml
- LCD.xml
- Partymode.xml
- RssFeeds.xml
- sources.xml

It appears that I have the same problem. 90% of my avis don't play since the new xbmc.

provide debug log. (hold X, Y on startup check fro mem indicator), then upload that log (it's in the root of xbmc dir, old one if you restarted after) to pastebin and post log here.

based on your log, xbmc isnt getting any data from the file. the cached data remains zero, and then xbmc fails with a samba read error (which i cant seem to find any info on)
unlock your hd, there is a bug with some hd's when they are locked.
