xbox 1.4, xenium ice running xos 2.0pre
well, i have been totally unable to solve the keymap.xml problem with the 2004-10-06 release. *so today, i tried to go back to the old 1.0 that i used to have (where everything worked fine.) i deleted e:\apps\xbmc, and those 0face008 folders in tdata and udata, and the .xbe and xbmc.xml from my c:\...
however, when i installed xbmc 1.0, it won't show the my files, settings, or weather menu on the main screen, and all the other menus, when accessed are missing seiously large chunks of text. *i am installing straight from the htb release with nothing modified other than the home directory in xboxmediacenter.xml....
so my question is, what did i not delete? i know there are a bunch of files in x, y, and z:, but can i safely delete them or will i just **** things up further? that is to say, what does xbmc 2004-10-06 install and where??? thanks-
no, it's not possible.
you just stuffed it up, that's all.
remove the xbmc dir (obviously while not in xbmc, although it'll mostly all remove i think)
remove the xbmc save game data (in tdata - udata makes no difference, but feel free to delete it anyway)
ftp whatever other version you want over.
run it.
done.
there is nothing wrong with the keymap.xml file in cvs. one thing it could be is if you failed to set the tag in xboxmediacenter.xml, it might come up with that error (i'll change it so that it's more obvious)
cheers,
jonathan
i did try that, still get the same results...i guess i am really screwed here...i am not a total noob at xbox modding, but it sure makes me feel like one...oh and xbmc seems to create a 0face08 folder in udata as well, not just tdata. *i don't see how deleting the new one and going back to 1.0 won't work...i did exactly what i did the first time, and now half the menus are missing...
if you can tell me what files specifically are created in x, y, and z, or some other way to identify only xbmc-created files, that would be great so i can delete them and rule out the possibility of some sort of corrupted temp file. if that's even a possibility?
thanks-
it installs to it's own directory, and to the tdata directory. that is all. we do use z: to cache subtitles + remote images for thumbs etc., but those don't matter at all.
why didn't you just get a fresh keymap.xml from the cvs archive on sourceforge?
