1/2 African American, 1/2 Nigerian. Both have different histories, culture, and customs.
Since your in the U.S. it just makes more sense to call yourself African American. If you were in Nigeria I wouldve suggested you call yourself Nigerian.

Your African American by the way I think everyone in the world has a mixed ethnic heritage you say Nigerian though there is over 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria so if you can call your mother Nigerian I dont see why you cant call yourself an African American or Black American

Your father is already of mixed ethnicity. African-Americans are mixed with varying degrees of ethnicities. Those ethnicites are usually European, Native, and Asian (including India). So, yes, you are of mixed heritage. Some people may disagree because they mistakenly believe that ethnicities only refers to skin colour. Here's a dictionary definition for the confused:
Ethnicity: Identity with or membership in a particular racial, national, or cultural group and observance of that group's customs, beliefs, and language.
