Why does it seem like the Big-10 always plays the Pac-10 at home?
Don't get mad at my questions b/c I'm not a huge football fan and have only paid real attention to it for the last 3 years. So maybe this is more of a recent trend that I've seen. What I'm getting at is why does everyone think that the Pac-10 is so superior to the Big-10, when the few games that we measure the teams on are always held at the Pac-10's home field. It seems like the Big-10 never plays them at home. Just a few of the examples I can think of our Ohio St. at USC tomorrow, Michigan St. at Cal. two weeks ago, and the Rose Bowl is always in California. USC who is almost always at the Rose Bowl plays at home vs. some Big-10 team who is always away and doesn't have as much support. No wonder the Pac-10 seems to dominate. Why doesn't the place they play change for the matchup of the Pac-10 Big-10 champions? Maybe things wouldn't be the same if they played a Big-10 team at home or can't westerners stand up to the time change.
I use http://www.soccer-tv.us for watcting live football online its the best ive found ive tried all the free live football spam crap and they don`t work if you want to watch live football i recommened http://www.soccer-tv.us BCS: Toine, where are you?:: And it seems like their coach (Bob "I'll Wear my Visor in an Orgy Thank You Very .. You talk like Utah plays in the Big 10. But we all know Utah doesn't http://forum.benharper.net/read.php?4,25510,27175HOME |

I think the Big 10 is overrated honestly, Ohio State has been absolutely pummelled in the National Championship game the last 2 years and no one in the Big 10 has really impressed me other than Wisconsin, but still, college football is about the presidents of the colleges, scheduling who they want, when they want, and we will never get a real sense of who is the best until they go to a playoff system which will never happen. Deseret News | Reader comments: Bradley making 'critical :: Play a team from the SEC, Big-12, Big-10 or PAC-10 (i.e. USC) that has a winning . It seems to me that Bronco is not very bright. Honestly, I do think the Big 10 is a decent conference, but I would still put the SEC, Big 12, and Pac-10 in front of them.
The scheduling is nothing but the school's choice and nothing more. USC doesn't have to play ohio state, but ohio state needs to win this game if they want any shot at the national championship.
Most teams when they play out of conference games schedule each other two years in a row, playing once at each home field. And the Pac-10 hardly has more home games against Big 10 teams. Overall College Football Strength of Schedule by Football Frontier:: I would also like to add (just to piss some big 10 fans off) that the best If your in high school and you think your a man, come play in the pac-10! http://www.solecismic.com/frontierblog/?p=21HOME |
OSU plays USC in Los Angeles this year, next year they play in Columbus.
The Rose Bowl is in California because that's where the venue is you can't change that. Just like the Orange Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Sugar Bowl are all in their respective locations.
2008
OSU @ USC
Oregon @ Purdue
Mich St @ Cal
Oregon St @ Penn St
Big Ten vs Pac 10 Homes Games 2-2
2007
Oregon @ Michigan
WSU @ Wisconsin
OSU @ Washington
Big Ten: 2 Pac-10: 1
2006
Minnesota @ Cal
0-1
Maybe it seems that way because... you're probably a fan of a team in the Big Ten and you obviously have a bias toward the conference.
And in regards to the Rose Bowl.. the Rose Bowl game has been played at the Rose Bowl for 102 years. They wouldn't change the location unless they got rid of the game. In 1998 when the BCS was established they chose a bunch of historical stadiums to play the BCS games.. one of which was the Rose Bowl. The Big 10 was paired up w/ the Pac-10 because they're the only ten team BCS conferences.
@upallnig..
You're right, yea oops I was looking at the wrong season.
Correction to Jboaz.......Oregon played at Michigan in 2007.......and USC at Nebraska doesn't qualify........
