why do foreign people hate america if they have never been there? i'm american but i am visiting Jordan right now and people are always telling me not to go back to america b/c the people there are bad! it makes me want to laugh!
I do not hate America (I'm not Jordan either) and yes, I have been there (California, Utah, Nevada, Arizona) and loved it. It could have been a number of reasons for that! In fact, I can list two off the top of my head!
First, Americans (referring to the Americans that foreign people believe are) are often viewed as racists (which I find very funny). Foreign people get this perception mainly from the news, such as the question of "Are you a Muslim" asked to Obama, the various hate messages drawn onto various walls (which has been compiled into a book), and the past history of America (Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 and Slavery).
Second, Americans are also viewed as extremely territorial. Examples of this include America's involvement in the Iraq War, its involvement in the Vietnam War, and its comparatively large budget for the army.

Third, Americans are also seen as arrogant, brute, and straight-forward to a fault. Reasons of this include its constant involvement in the Iraq War even though the business of (internal) business of Iraq has nothing to do with the US (Think of it as some guy bashing into your house just to settle your marital trouble with your wife)[also related to America's involvement in Somalia] , the same can be seen in its previous involvement in the Israeli-Palestinian War. Oh, right, and also the deployment of troops of Afghanistan. So yeah, off of those things I just mentioned, people can really view America as, well, an Imperialistic and Militaristic place.

My dads best mate is English but he lives in America because he married an American woman and has two children. I am English and I don't know if it's because of this but I don't hate America. I would love to visit it and all the American people I know (6 in total) have been really nice and have had more manners than the English. I don't hate it, there are aspects of it that I don't understand which is why I think some customs are strange, but then things like that exist in every society.
I'm from England it would be stupid if British people said they hate America because we're heavily influenced by in it a lot of areas, and vice versa.

America is such a huge country with very varied multicultural societies within it, it would be wrong and uneducated to generalise by saying the whole country is hated.
Well i have travelled to americas a number of times and in the Californian area people are genuine and lovely. Also i have visited new york jersey Miami and people are also nice there. Don't listen to anyone who says america is a bad place. Don't get me wrong some places in america can be rough but isn't most places in a country?. America is the best place to go.

Because the evil that America has done in the world with it's rampant commercial and financial imperialism, militaristic adventures, and colossal waste and pollution, unfortunately, at the present time, outweighs the good of generosity, tolerance, diligence and charity which America brings to the world.
Because America is a bully. Sure, there are plenty of nice people in America, but you are represented around the world by your incredibly agressive, hypocritial and downright nonsensical foreign policy and your agressive corporations who bully other markets into submission. People don't see the apple pie america, they just see Coke, Microsoft and war in Iraq.
