On the sims 2, whenever my sim kisses her husband her children get incredibly angry at her! And the odd thing is, all the children are children of both those parents - so they should be fine, but they have interactions like "have a fit" or "Cry softly",

Perhaps you have done too well on it, perhaps they have love hearts next to their names in relation to their Mum. This is great but that intensity of love means jealousy and anger.
They love their Mum but she's giving affection to someone else, they want the attention. It's spoiled child syndrome, you've been too attentive to their every need and are now "too close".
