Why do a lot of people assume that God (if he exists) cares about humans? | | Published by: smith 2010-03-15 |
| | A lot of the time, I hear people say things like "If God existed, then why are there so many problems in the world like war and genocide?" or "If God existed, then why does he allow people to starve in third world countries?".
Why do a lot of people seem to think that if a God existed, it would care about us?
Because they also assume we are the center of the universe and that the universe was created solely for us.
They don't "assume" they KNOW; for they have seen the good Him and His angels and other servants have done for this World.
God exists.
Period.
I rarely answer a question with a question but let me ask you this. Why do you do the things you do? Do you derive some sort of pleasure from it? Example, I go to work because not doing so will bring me suffering. No matter how much I hate my job, being broke and homeless would be worse. Therefore, I go to work because after all my calculations, work is better than being homeless.
So, why is there so many problems in this world. There's an ancient wisdom (dates back nearly 5800 years) which I recently was made aware of that provides answers to these types of questions. First of all, God as the majority knows it does not exist. God in fact is a force, like gravity and electromagnetism. Gravity and such can be described as having certain qualities. God's quality is of love and bestowal. This force is what created the entire creation with the purpose of bringing it to what's known as equivalence of form. All human beings are egoists. Ego as defined by this ancient wisdom is the desire to receive for the self alone. It's hard to imagine but every action we perform, no matter how good it may seem can be viewed as the desire to receive for the self. Even people like Oprah who donate millions do it for the tax break, the honor, etc.
Now to answer your question. Does God care about humans. In the same way i go to work because it brings me pleasure, God created all of existence because He wanted to do good.

The truth is we make our own problems and don't blame God for giving us enough freedom to sabotage our life, society and the environment. God could help if we only asked but people are too busy worshiping themselves or the devil. God still loves us ; we are the one walking out on Him. Incidentally, this is not about assuming or guessing around ; this is about personal relationship and first hand experience.
Question: "Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?"
Answer: Why do bad things happen to good people? That is one of the difficult questions in all of theology. God is eternal, infinite, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, etc. Why should we human beings (not eternal, infinite, omniscient, omnipresent, or omnipotent) expect to be able to fully understand Godâ s ways? The book of Job deals with this issue. God had allowed Satan to do everything he wanted to Job except kill him. What was Jobâ s reaction? â Though he slay me, yet will I hope in himâ (Job 13:15). â The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praisedâ (Job 1:21). Job didnâ t understand why God had allowed the things He did, but he knew that God was good and therefore continued to trust in Him. Ultimately, that should be our reaction as well. God is good, just, loving, and merciful. Often things happen to us that we simply cannot understand. However, instead of doubting God's goodness, our reaction should be to trust Him. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Perhaps a better question is, "Why do good things happen to bad people?" God is holy (Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8). Human beings are sinful (Romans 3:23; 6:23). Do you want to know how God views humanity? â As it is written: There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one. Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. The poison of vipers is on their lips. Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know. There is no fear of God before their eyesâ (Romans 3:10-18). Every human being on this planet deserves to be thrown into hell at this very moment. Every second we spend alive is only by the grace of God. Even the most terrible misery we could experience on this planet is merciful compared to what we deserve, eternal hell in the lake of fire.
â But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for usâ (Romans 5:8). Despite the evil, wicked, sinful nature of the people of this world, God still loved us. He loved us enough to die to take the penalty for our sins (Romans 6:23). All we have to do is believe in Jesus Christ (John 3:16; Romans 10:9) in order to be forgiven and promised a home in heaven (Romans 8:1). What we deserve = hell. What we are given = eternal life in heaven if we would just believe. It has been said, this world is the only hell believers will ever experience, and this world is the only heaven unbelievers will ever experience. The next time we ask the question, â Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?â , maybe we should be asking, â Why does God allow good things to happen to bad people?â
if god does exist, chances are he cares about us. but he is like a father or mother, as much as my parents want me to quit smoking weed, they can't make me. as much as god cares and wants us all to get along, he can't make us.
Because they want God to care about them. It makes them feel secure.
