KRAMER: And then they just ran off with the armoire, just like that. SOUP NAZI: Ohh! This city. http://www.seinfeldscripts.com/TheSoupNazi.htmHOME | The Weimar Republic came about at a terrible time in German History. In Post-WWI Germany, economic conditions were very bad. As part of the Treaty of Versailles, the Germans had to pay large reparations to the countries of Europe, specifically France, for damages caused during the war. The bulk of the fighting during the war happened on the German-France border so most of the damage was sustained there. The Germans were also trying to rebuild their country at the same time yet they had lost a large amount of natural resources after places like Alsace and Lorraine were returned to France and some parts of Poland were handed to Russia. At some points, a loaf of bread cost over 10 million marks, in 1923 the 50 million mark equaled $1 U.S. and often burning money was cheaper than burning wood. Obviously the people of Germany would look for an alternative to this and Hitler's rise was what they followed. © OCR 2000 1:: File Format: Microsoft Word - View as HTMLKey Question 3(a): The Nazi regime: how effectively did the Nazis control How did the Nazis use culture and the mass media to control the people? http://www.sibfordschool.net/word documents/historysyllabus.docHOME | Why did students follow a "commander" in Nazi uniform? :: Alex :: Oct 2, 2008 The BBC has released footage of students at Gloucestershire University participating in a sports club initiation ritual reported by the http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/alex_starritt/blog/2008/10/02/why_did_students_follow_a_commander_in_nazi_uniformHOME |
Is this question serious?
Hitler wanted to create a dictatorship with him as absolute ruler. That's not easy to do in a republic.
The Weimar Republic was a democratic form of government with a bill of rights and courts to enforce it. It may not have been the most stable government, but that was a reason you couldn't be a dictator. You could be voted out of office very quickly. Why did the Nazi Germany lose WWII? - Yahoo! Also, he wanted to kill off Jews, Slavs, Gypsies, and all other people he considered sub human. This is also difficult to do in a democratic system.
Hitler could not pass his racial laws if it had to be voted on by the German Parliament. Even if they did vote to kill all the Jews, the German courts might have declared genocide unconstitutional.
In short, you can not create a genocidal government bent on world domination in a democracy.
