Why can't XP can't find drivers for Seagate external drive? | | Published by: anonym 2009-01-07 |
I have a Seagate external drive (ST316DD26ARK) that I've been using an an XP system for a year. Suddenly the system thinks it is a new device and tries to load a driver for it. The autosearch for the driver doesn't find anything. I looked on Seagate site for a drive but it claims that it should already be there as a part of the system (preloaded with XP as a plugnplay) - so they don't offer a driver to download and reinstall. So now the driver can't be used.
Any hints?
you shouldnt need a driver for it.you plug the hd to a usb port and open my computer. You should see it on the window. You access it by opening it and explore the contents .
