Is it wrong for women to respect themselves? Is it wrong to not wear booty shorts, or dress half naked going out for dinner?
i never hear negative things about someone dressed with class. i only hear negative things about women who dress letting it all hang out. maybe that's because i usually hang out with the first group.
because they think they are classy, when in actuality they are stuck up and sadidy

being classy is more about how you carry yourself and handle situations, not about what you wear, that is the misconception
I think what is happening here is that in society today the differential treatment of Males and Females is very large. Females in general are given much mental, emotional, social, academic support from day one and protection from aggression by society. This protection and support creates much freedom of expression that many other persons such as Males are not allowed to have. It affects body language, words, tone, and inflection. It is not just the style of dress, but the overall demeaner of a person who has been raised in a suffiently supported position who at least appears to not have proper understanding or possibly care for the plights of others who have not grown up in such supportive way.
Males are treated with much more aggression and neglect designed to make them strong. Any support, love, honor, and respect is given - the essentials of self-woeth only on condition of sufficient achievement, money, power, image, etc.

n the information age, this treatment is killing off Males so they are not able to compete as well in the information age. They are falling behind.academically and now economically. Since Males are given love, honor respect only on condition of sufficient achievment, money, and power, they are losing out on not just wages, they are losing out on feelings of self-worth. When Females who are seen as doing so well from years of protection and support while Males are not given any of those things, they feel the lack of understanding, care, and respect that come from those showy displays by those women. They then resent such very much and feel cheated.
There are also many women who have been raised in much less supportive environments and who have suffered very much. Such ones may also resent the lack of understanding, care, and respect they may receive from Females who at least appear to have a more selfish, conceited way about them, and appear to not have sufficient compasion. I think someone answered this way already but let me put in my two cents, being falsely classy and being really classy are two totally different things, you should learn what the difference is
thinking you are better than someone else because of this or that and looking down your nose own people couldnt be further from classy as I know the real meaning to be
to me a woman who can put others first, is not shallow, and can endure hardships and keep her loving attitude is genuinely classy
for example a woman who is shallow or sadidy but believes she is classy would leave her man if he goes through financial hardships because he can no longer keep up with her false classyness or maintain with her being so high maintenance
but a truely classy woman would stick by her man and show loyalty and true love, and do what she can to help get through the hardtimes together

Yes some men think if a woman isn't shaking her "thang" revealing her body that she's "saddity" which is stupid. I know plently of snobby women who dress like whores and plently of down to earth women on dress classy. Class comes from inside not how you dress yourself. Personally I hate seeing girls/women dressed all half naked when they're out on a date/dinner, especially when it's at a decent-nice place. Sure I like to wear some revealing clothes sometimes, but that's when I'm at a party w/ friends I know. Other than that I think more women need to take some pride in themselves and trust in themselves to not NOT have to rely on exposing as moch skin as possible just to think they're attractive. Plus, I DONT WANT TO SEE IT!

Some "classy" women ARE indeed conceited. There's nothing wrong with having self respect... If you're genuine then people will see that.
