Thurston is a far better player.
Remember last year... Matt Orford has all of these awesome back and forwards while Thurston has Matt Bowen, an inexperienced forward pack and they still made it to the prelim final which is a pretty good feat.
In my opinion, I would say Orford is a better player.
Not just because im a manly supporter.
I think Thurston is too over-rated.
Orford has a great kicking game minus quite a few occasions with his conversions. He has the team to support him, and proved to everyone he CAN perform in big games. Not saying thurston can't though.
Thurston is a great player i would just rate orford more.
I hate to say it but i think Thurstons a better player although i would choose Orford over him anyday cause i personally like the latter player better. Dont ask Why?

They are both great players But I think The Ox has a better short kicking game the best in the comp at the moment.Imagine if we could combine the two "Orfston" who would he play for the Blues or the Maroons?
i think thurston got chosen because of origin though. but with that aside they are both great players and jonathan thurston can cope under pressure

There is no comparison between thurston and orford. Thurston is by far the better player... Exactly why Orford was not picked in the world cup team. Both Thurston and Prince are better players. you always hear halfbacks say there forwards set the platform and got the team rolling forward, Thurston always plays good for Australia because he has solid players around him.

Thurston will be something big in the future if he doesn't get injured to much, and i think Orford might be looking at a blues Jersey next year unless the selectors pick a younger halfback to prepare for the future

Thurston for sure. Better reading of the game. Moves the players around and can create something out of nothing.

I think they are both overrated and in no way even close to Joey Johns. I didn't watch a game this year where either dominated like Joey used to every week, the only halfback that i thought came close to that this year was Kimmorly. I don't like the little fella that much but he played with more spirit this year than ever.
