I hated him when he played for us, he's just gone even lower in my estimation, if that were possible. He made his name at Arsenal and then walked out like he was God's gift. I'm glad the useless git is at City, I hope they get relegated.
Maybe couldn't remeber which club is more famous - city or united, so he ended up at City. lol
Have you heard him talking on TV recently? I'm surprised that his English has been improved since the last time I've heard him talking while he was still at Arsenal.
I hope he gets an earful at Highbury! I don't like him and enjoy laughing at his failures on the pitch. Now that he's left Liverpool, everyone at my local can feel free to laugh at him as well. dwinkler, the problem is not just what he did and said at 19 as he continues to say crap. He seems to still believe that his Sp**s don't stink and that he is greater than any club or player he has been with! I would actually enjoy watching him fall into lower division football or even retirement all because he didn't realize what he had!
BTW - I'm not bitter!

All of that, doubled.
He got the youg player of the year award. And rather than go to the awards ceremony to pick it up, he went out on the town with his friends. Miserable git.
Correct me if Im wrong and I usually am, but didnt Anelka score 19 goals in 98. Not enough to get the Golden boot. Bergkamp did score less, maybe 14, but won the PFA player of the year. Anelka acted as if he had done Arsenal football some great service despite no real awards to reflect it. Im taking the numbers from memory and have no clue how close I am, but I do remember the outrageous amount we got for him and thought good riddance.

Anelka used us and we used him. He used us to make a big money move, and we used him to help win the double and to finance future transactions/line the directors' pockets when we fleeced Real. Bought for half a mil, sold for 24 mil. Nice.
Another thing - he was very young and, presumably, very immature when all this stuff was going on. I'm inclined to give the guy a break and blame the bad boy act on foolish youth. Did you ever do anything you weren't especially proud of when you were 19?
SuperNic scored some key goals down the stretch when Bergy and Wright were crocked/suspended/benched. We wouldn't have won the '98 Double without him.
