I saw a special on ID a few weeks or months ago and it was about the shottings at columbine. And one of the things they mentioned was that the two shotters had posted all the names on a website of the people they were going to kill. Students showed there parents and their parents told the police BUT they didnt do anything. So whose to blame, the police or the shotters for the killings at Columbine? The police, and this is from my friend who is a cop, get so many calls every day claiming something is gonna go down and it never does...it gets hard to judge the real from the pranks.
Also look at it this way...the cops storm down..what does news read then...cops invade school without proper process, school stormed by police on a website's say so and people complain about how the cops acted recklessly without doing proper check up.
It was a horrible thing, and there are hundreds of ways it could have been stopped but they involve turning our society into a paranoid, freedomless slave pen where we all wear numbers and have no rights. Otherwise we pay the price of liberty and freedom by enduring the random acts of madness that pop up, doing what can do reasonably to protect ourselves but WITHOUT giving up our ideals...because if we give in we lose..end of story.
If we live ruled by fear then not only did those mad kids win but every enemy of this country has won because America the land of the free and the home of the brave will have become Amerika the land of the slaves and the home of the coward.
Or we could make a law that EVERYONE has to have a firearm on their person at all times so that anyone who shoots gets taken out right away. Extreme, and probably inefficient, but hey might be crazy enough to work
