Published by: jack 2009-01-07
  • my rabbit didnt go when i first got him but will he be ok?
when will he need a check up
when will he need nails and teeth doing and what will the prices be for uk only please

  • Rabbits are prey animals. In the wild the weakest are taken down first, so it is instincutal to 'hid' any weaknesses until they are very VERY sick. If your rabbit is showing any signs of illness, not eating, not drinking, not going to the bathroom, or just a change in it's behavior.... take him/her to the Vet immediately!!! I've had Bunnies for nearly 10 years now & had one die suddenly, because I was inexperienced at seeing her 'signs' telling me she was ill. By the time I figured it out, it was too late.
My rabbit has had wet tail for the last week. I just notcied that::

  • Rabbits need vaccinating against some diseases to keep them healthy. Rabbits can be vaccinated against Myxomatosis from 6 weeks of age. Rabbits should not be vaccinated while pregnant or ill. After the firsit vaccination regular boosters are required. Boosters are given either every 12 months or every 6 months, depending on the risk in your local area.

Vaccinations generally cost between £10-20 each.

Teeth and nails should be trimmed by a vet every 6 months but check them yourself and see if they are causing any discomfort.

  • It cost about £30 to get my rabbit checked over and a myxi jab.

  • Ive just got two beautiful bunnys, they will need myxi jabs and the other stuff.
You'll be best to go to the vets get her all booked in and im sure you have a happy healthy bunny.
