My chinchilla (around 6 month old) is acting very strangely. I don't think it's lethargy but she's very inactive and she has been sleeping A LOT for 2 days, almost nothing else but sleep. She does react when I pat or put her on the floor, but she just finds the closest thing to rest her head (even on my leg) and snuggles to sleep. She doesn't eat or drink.

Feb 9, 2010 I do not want my chinchilla getting pregnant due to the careless who sell animals should have some cert or something, when we got my I think you should let them know that they got it wrong, Her body knows just what to do, and there are plenty of UK forums to get advice from about it. <3

I thought she has stress because I did move her into another cage for some reasons for about 3 days, and then put her back (the new cage is in the old room).
Please help me I'm very very worried now. Please give me any advice of what to do or what's happening to her, anything apart from seeing a vet, because that's what everyone is telling me anywhere I ask. I know this sound pathetic but right now I can't afford a vet. They charge 100$ just for the medical checkup. I'm lending some money for her to get the checkup but it won't be available until money. Please tell me something that I can do :(

At Banfield Pet Hospital located in most Petsmarts, they usually have two free clinic days a week. Your chinchilla can probably be seen there for free. Our Banfield staff is very knowledgable and helpful. Try giving them a call.
