I have an outline of a heart in black a bit larger than a quarter tattooed on my stomach near my hip bone. It's boring because it doesn't have any color or shading or anything and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on anything cute to add to it or pictures or anything because I am getting a new tattoo soon and I'm thinking about making it a little more interesting. :] Thanks! If I were in your situation, I would make the heart into an entirely different design. Hearts are so common, and expected. If you do want to keep the heart, you could add literally anything to it, since it's so small. I would think in terms of vines, barb wire, tribal symbols. Anything flowing and curvy goes well with simple heart designs. Or there's always the classic arrow through the heart, the bleeding heart, etc. The list is long. I feel I should also add that the stomach isn't considered the best spot for a tattoo, especially if you plan on having kids in the future. So maybe your best bet is to leave the heart and get a new tattoo somewhere more reliable and less stretchy.
I agree with the others - you could incorperate a whole new design since the heart is so small. But if it were my body, what I would do is put two sparrows holding the heart in their beaks and color the heart in with hot pink. Super cute, super girly, and totally unexpexted! Hope I helped!
It's small enough that you could do more than just "add", you could incorporate a whole new design.
