DÜREFORSÖG:: Throughout the album you'll hear bizarre backing tracks layered with shining lyrics and bright . We could name billions of bands that we have been into, http://www.xtrememusic.org/features/dureforsog.htmlHOME | Ok, my question about a group that i was trying to tell you all about was for some reason deleted. here is what the question was:
Some of you have probably seen me mention them before, but this song that ive just uploaded from on my youtube page is one of their best, and probably their best known song(from the few people that do know about them).
They went by the name Chimera, and although they never produced an album at the time of their recording of their songs, their work was produced by Nick Mason from Pink floyd. Even Richard Wright plays and is featured on the rare album that was made by them many years later(of which there are not many copies). Even Bob Weston from Fleetwood Mac contrubuted to the music for Chimera. just take a listen to this song from them and give me some feedback after the video is over.

oh, and what unknown groups that you been into?
Chimera is awsome! Great Question!
Clutch is the best band around, and too bad NO ONE knows them! check out their song Electric Worry, you'll be hooked.
Liz Borden Band
Lizzie Borden and the Axes
Weird Al Yankovic
Chimera made some great music, and it's disappointing that they are such an esoteric band - their music definitely deserves a far greater fanbase. Darren Naish: Tetrapod Zoology: New, obscure, and nearly extinct :: Mar 25, 2006 One of them has lately been in the news. . Many thanks to those who have donated! Recently,I've really been listening to The People's Revolutionary Choir: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=9XZCr8lEY3... - this is their best song!
They aren't bizarre but they are obscure, being that they are a recent band who showed great promise but ultimately didn't last long together.
As for bizarre(and quite obscure) I would have to mention "The Vampire Sound Incorporation"

This is one of my all-time favourite songs and it can be found on the Jackie Brown Soundtrack.
Enjoy!

Sorry, can't link youtube at work, but they are all there for the listening - best vids evah! Catalogue of Organisms: February 2008:: The answer is that both of them have been accused of plagiarism. Well it's a local band but the band Dingleberry Dynasty has this one song called "The Lisp Song" and it's hilarious!!!!!
Check out Endrone or Doomshade on youtube there pretty good.
I've been listening to a lot of indie folkish type bands lately and Portishead. I finally borrowed their new album from a friend a few weeks ago and I can't get enough of them.

...great band.
I feel like I've already told you how I felt about Chimera... but maybe I haven't. I know I've listened to them before, though... because of you, of course. If I haven't then I'll just say I like them, but they're not my favorite group that you've introduced to me before. Well, I discovered a site I really like that streams obscure (some more than others) psychedelic/'60s pop music (http://www.beyondthebeatgeneration.com/ ), so I've been listening to a lot of random artists... But a few of my favorites have been:
Morgen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJIoEzVJx...
The Music Machine: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJR_KGZO4...
13th Floor Elevators: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwSA0Tckw...
Those ones aren't very obscure, though, since the ones I really liked I haven't been able to find again because they're not on the internet. But I would be obsessing over them if I could! Like King Ransom, Phlegethon, Apple-Class Cyndrom, and many others...
I'm at work so I can't listen. Sorry.
I listen to the small local bands from around here a lot. And even listen to some CD's of local bands that no longer exist.
