Okay, I know this question has been asked before - but the answers are varied and disperse. I'm looking for distinct clarification in a few areas.
First of all, to make the scenario clear - I run my own Windows 2003 Server, so I don't need Telnet or anything else. I can run everything locally on the Server itself.
So, down to the nitty gritty. :)
1. Before backing up - what needs to be done? Should vBulletin be turned off? Should the website be completely disabled, so that not even the Board-is-Down screen gets loaded? how can I view inside my ear?:: 400000 pixel resolution (and up). 2. What is the best way to back up the databases, given the scenario I'm working with? MySqlDump? Or should I just copy the actual MySQL data directories? 3. If we're talking about Mysqldump, should any options be specified? (i.e. "--opt", "--lock-tables", etc...) Or should any command be performed first?
4. Is there any special procedure to backing up the actual vB directories? Or would a simple directory/file copy (or XCopy) be sufficient?
I'm sorry for the detailed questions - I'm just trying to get all the answers to backing up in one solid location. :)

Those are simply files that can be backed up the normal way.
