What if i already took the oath for the marines but i want to get out will i be discharged?
i thought the military is what i wanted but its just not 4 me i already went through MEPS and took the oath and my deployment date is july 6 2009 i asked my recruiter if i get out now will i get discharged he said yes. but i think hes lying is this true?
As long as you dont ship ou to basic, u are not obligated to follow any military rules...that first swear in is just saying you ahave a reserved joba nd waiting to get shipped out...if you dont want to join then tell ur recruiter...i am currently in the Navy DEP, but i am in the process of getting out so i can join the Air force...id rather have my feet on the ground then on a ship...Just remember that YOU have to lve this life
Look dude, if you went to MEPS, did the physical, picked a job, and swore in the first time you're in the delayed entry program, or Poolee for Marines, or Future Soldier for the Army. Anyway, if that's what you've done then call your recruiter and tell him/her you don't wish to go. No harm, no foul. There are no repurcutious whatsoever concerning that decision except you can't get back into any branch for 45 days. If you've done all that and go up on your ship day, you're free to say NO up until you swear in the second time...then you're done dude. That is is, nothign more and nothing less. Call your recruiter and let them know now...don't just disappear on them. Oh, in final answer: you won't be "discharged" in anyway or sense of the word since you haven't been IN the service yet. You'll be the same as the day before you joined. Again, no harm/no foul.
Early Exits kuro5hin.org:: It's possible to obtain a discharge after 180 days, but it's extremely .. If you try to wash out in Basic they will run you through another cycle. http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2005/6/12/0297/09322HOME | News Hounds ~ View topic - Vietnam war deserter arrested 38 years on:: 25 posts - 10 authorsI think it must be just draft dodgers that have been pardoned, but if that .
