What do you think of Davis as a little boys name?

Published by: rose 2009-01-07

  • My dad passed away & I can't use his first & middle names, but my maiden name is Davis. Also the Davis line dies with me & my cousin because we are girls. What do you think of it as a boys first name? Please no rude remarks, if you don't like it say so & why not just "I don't like it" Also best answer or most thorough answer gets ten points. And what middle name would you put with it? Last name is Brown.

  • I like it.

    Davis Emery Brown
    Davis Andrew Brown
    Davis Axel Brown
    Davis Sterling Brown
    Davis Alexander Brown
    Davis Maxwell Brown
    Davis Fletcher Brown
    Davis Emmett Brown
    Davis Montgomery Brown

Anything that's a little longer or more syllables but doesnt end in N should sound good.

  • Davis is a nice name for a boy. Even though it is used mainly as a last name, I think you can pull it off with the right middle name.

    Davis Michael
    Davis Ryan
    Davis Oliver

  • I really love Davis! Davis Allen is handsome and I love the significance of it!

  • I like that a lot. I love how people use family names and i never ever thought of using a last name.

  • David is adorable and unique! I love it! I def. say go for it. It's so handsome and strong.

    Davis Emmett
    Davis Cooper
    Davis Emerson
    Davis Parker
    Davis Jordan
    Davis Vince

  • I think that's a great idea so the name would live on. I've never beena a fan of the name but I don't have anything against it. Davis Linden Brown, Davis Zachary Brown, Davis Isaiah Brown?

  • Davis Collin Brown is my input.

I like the name Davis very much...I think its a cute name. Strong and different.

  • Davis is a fine first name. It's been in the top 500 boys names in the US since the 1880s. You can track popularity on the link below

  • It's not my style, but I think it's a good name for you to use. I love the use of family names, and since it's not going to be passed on any other way, it's especially nice. Last names are in fashion as first names right now anyways. Think of how trendy Jackson, Carter, Brennan, etc. are. Davis fits in with the trend, so while it as a distinctive sound, it won't be a totally out of left field choice. Plus, it's close to David, a biblical name that's currently out of fashion, but still very familiar. Davis also works as a first name because it yields a common, familiar nickname, Dave, if your Davis doesn't like having a more unusual first name. It's also pretty nifty because Brown is such a common last name. Davis Brown is going to be a lot less common of a combination than Michael Brown, or Alex Brown, for example. Just to be safe, I would use a distinctive middle name as well. I would consider any cool, quirky family names on your husband's side. If I was just going to pick a name that flowed, I would consider:

    Davis Arthur Brown
    Davis Gideon Brown
    Davis Theodore Brown
    Davis Finley Brown
    Davis Hugo Brown

  • Davis is an awesome name!

    I like Davis Alan Brown
    Davis Adam Brown

    Best of Luck!!

    Carrie =)

  • Terrific choice and masculine, too!
    Davis Jagger Brown
    Davis Joel Brown
    Davis Ford Brown
    Davis Noah Brown

  • I really dont like it. It sounds more of a Last Name to me. How about using Davis as a middle name. Here are some nice name suggestions:

    Ashten Davis Brown
    Peyton Davis Brown
    Chase Davis Brown
    Kaleb Davis Brown
    Joshua Davis Brown

  • I think Davis would be a good middle name. I think Ryland Davis would be cute. You can call him Davie as a nickname.
