i just started with photography, like, a couple months ago. i have a kodak dx7630 point and shoot, which i actually like, since it has 6.1 megapixels, and it takes pretty good shots. i just bought a nikon f3 and a 70-210mm lense, which i am actually very satisfied with, since i bought all of my film camera stuff on ebay. im getting a nikorr 28mm lens in the mail sometime soon. so, i have 2. im sure some of you have like, billions.

What, no russian Kievs or FEDs or Zorkis? Your collection seriously needs work.
Actually, it's those cameras that always need serious work. ;) Someday I'm sure I'll add a Zorki or a FED, but it'll have to be a heck of a deal. I know folks who have had good luck with their ex-USSR cameras, but every one I've ever had a chance to use sounded and felt more like a pepper grinder than a camera. Most recently I tried out a brand new Horizon 202; I was pretty disappointed.
Ha I'm also lacking but I'll share anyhow!
Canon tx (and some stuff to go with it)
Fuji finpix s5100
I forgot to add to my list a Stereo Realist 35mm. My dad bought it back in the late 40's or early 50's I believe. Kind of cool but a pain in the butt to mount the pictures to view. Neat effect though.
Since I just started taking my photography more serious about 6 months ago, I have much less then the rest of you.

Matt.... are you allergice to Canon?
Well, I thought that was a complete list. Add a Canon AE-1 with assorted lenses to it. But maybe it doesn't count; I got it because it was my dad's old 35mm SLR. I didn't go out looking for one. It's a great camera though, and I use it along with the Nikon FM2n at weddings (one for color, one for BW; I know, I know, you digital guys are laughing! )
I have pretty much as much Canon 35mm SLR stuff as Nikon 35mm SLR stuff. I like to go for the under dog, so I've always been a Pentax man when it comes to 35mm SLRs.
There's a Canon rangefinder that you can get a f/0.9 (that's right, faster than f/1 ) lens for. That would be really sweet. Looking at the technology now, I imagine my first DSLR will be a Canon.
hehe I have
300V
300D
Olympus c-400
Read my sig for further info about lenses :)
Lots. Never catalogued them or counted them. I just buy cameras that I like the look of.
I'll think about getting a list together.
Its not all about covering the same spectrum or focal length. Every lens has a purpose. Prime lenses are almost always better then zooms. They are typically quicker and sharper. The 60mm and 105mm micro lenses are true macro 1:1 lenses, good luck finding a zoom to do 1:1. And the 35mm, 50mm, and 85mm have much wider apetures then my 35-70mm or the 18-70mm. These are perfect for portrait work or low light.
As for the 70-300mm and the 80-200mm, even though they cover similar focal lengths these lenses are way different. The 80-200mm is a big lens that needs a tripod or monopod and costs nearly a grand, but is very sharp. The 70-300mm is much cheaper and easier to handle but isn't as sharp. I like to use this one when its incovient to carry the big lens or impractable, but I still need the extra focal length.
Even though the 70-300mm covers this focal length, the 300mm f/4 is a pro lens and is much sharper.
Many photographers just want of put one lens on their camera and never take it off. I do not have this problem. I feel that if I'm going to have a camera with interchangable lenses then I'm going to change lenses when needed.

my question is, some of your lenses overlap others like the non-zoom lenses, why have the non-zoom lens if you have one that will cover the same spectrum?

I've got a Sony 828, a Nikon 885, a Canon 10D with a 200mm L, a Sigma 20mm wide, and a 50mm 1.8, a Canon Rebel (film), a Canon AE1 Program, and a Minolta X700. Whew! My main camera is the 828.

This is very useful information since I am looking into other lenses. + rep for you!
Good Golly, my collection is seriously lacking.
I have
FujiFinepix S7000 (digital)
Canon AE-1 w/28 and 50mm lenses, and 2 telephoto lenses
Holga
Canon Powershot something or other.. my husband has it with him right now in Iraq so I'm not using that one.
I primarily use my Digital Rebel w/18-55mm & 28-105mm lenses.
I also have a Minolta X-700 that I just recently acquired which I'll be using strictly to perfect my black & white photography. I'm going colored-filter-crazy after lately having found a huge interest in hi-contrast outdoor black & white converting with my digital color images.
