I want to buy my daughter a car - what's best and why?
Yellow is actually the safest followed by really fluoro Blue ... but if you want a sensible colour White is nearly as good.
Dark green, dark grey and deep blue are the worst colours. That's because they can merge in colour with the trees and the roads, particularly in bad light. That means people can't see you!!
Fire trucks are now yellow - that's because it's easiets to see in all conditions.
Silver, they hardly ever get pulled over and they just kind of blend.
White is the right answer.
SILVER..... Easiest to maintain.
Because if you were to buy either white or black it is very visible when the car gets dirty. And I understand these 2 colours will cost you more if you send the car for polishing.
I read that the color most easily seen by the human eye is school bus yellow.
Not a popular color and is not one that help with resale, buy is most easily seen by other drivers.
The most important safety feature in a car is a skillful safe driver. Skill and safety go hand in hand.
Well i like a light blue or silver..
Do Not get a red car, they are bad luck.my mum had 3 accidents in her red Fors and funny enough none of the mwere her fault. She has had blue cars for the last 8 years and has'nt had 1 accident. Lol I have no clue white because the colour white in nature is reflective? But does this have anything to do with the finishing they put over the paint?
Actually according to insurance, shiny white. According to me? One with police lights on top.
Silver Cars Are Safer
Silver cars are less likely to be involved in a crash resulting in serious injury than cars of other colors.
There is a significant reduction (about 50%) in the risk of serious injury in silver cars compared with white cars.
why not let her choose?
If it's for a chick, it really needs to be something bright (red, yellow, blue) or sexy (black, silver). I understand your concerns but the colour has little to do with the chance of having an accident.
Statistics are unreliable because the number of cars of a certain colour varies at any given time due to fashion trends etc.
Also some colours are more predominant and are therefore over represented all things being equal. e.g.If every car was silver then silver would be statistically the most "dangerous" colour.
Cars that attract hoons tend to be certain colours. Statistically they're more likely to show up in the accident reports.
If you still want to play safe, get a brown car but don't expect daughter to thank you for it.
I believe white is fairly "safe" but in Aus it is the "poverty" colour.
Just make sure she has good driving skills and get something with ABS, airbags and ESP.
Pink is the safest but not a great color
