a client's vbulletin site went off line today for about 11 hours. when the host finally restored VPS service, the site wasn't quite fully restored. the host explained that they had to go back to the db that was sitting on the shared server, because the one on the VPS server was lost (the VPS site was being automatically backed up every night). while the forum lost 600+ registrations that had been made since the switch to VPS, the message boards were fully restored. Nope, it doesn't make any sense. If it was a complete backup and restore, then all the info would be there from last night's forum.
