many tnx.
when playing dvd's that are in the dvd drive, don't select the included files. just press the play dvd button. for dvd's stored on disk select either the image file if you have that or the video_ts1.ifo. you need to have an xbmc later than 2004-03-26 to get this to work.

i am in the same boat here. i can never select the right movie file to get the movie to start playing. it would be really nice to select the folder of the movie and then hit the "play dvd" button on the left side and have it play the movie. ok - thanks. so...if i re-author a dvd, i can/should create a single .vob and keep the generated .ifo? keeping the .ifo will give me proper audio/subtitling and chapter-forwarding capability rather than just keeping the .vob?
i can see the files in "my videos" ..but when i select the .vob file...the whole screen is garbled...is this a new bug or my drive cant read fast enough...seems like it doesnt cache at all for some reason
then for burnt dvds i can watch them perfectly...something to do with cahce or bitrates here?!?
"garbled" means it's a decss (decrypting encoding) problem, so probebely a bug. home burnt dvd's don't have css and therefor work.
what's the support for playing a ripped dvd from the hard drive or network? do you have menu menu support? chapter functionality? i tried playing an .iso over the network, but it didn't seem to gain much over just playing the .vob.
in cvs there is now support for playing ripped dvd's from disk. just make sure you have the entire structure *.vob, *.ifo*,.bup
then just select the video_ts1.ifo
what you gain is no more delay when it is switching vobs as with filestacking, plus proper audio/subtitle stream switichng with language and type names.
menu support will not be implemented before it is supported by mplayer.
