You don't want access to be your database unless you will be the only user on the board. MySQL Reference Manual::
For example, you can use MS Access to connect to your MySQL server. The descriptions mostly deal with Version 3.23, 4.0 and 4.1 of MySQL Server.

Perhaps under a rock somewhere but with multi-user Access will corrupt itself into oblivion with the sort of accesses that vB will put it under. If you have a computer running access than is there any reason you can't get MySQL-Win32 installed?
