Even if you choose not to read emails. Every time the admincp reports there's a new version out, it's worth checking the announcement and reading it for important information.

I got the e-mail as well. While I was disappointed to see it increase, I still agree it's well worth the money. It's hands-down the best forum software I've ever used. So sorry if you didn't get it, but it definitely went out.

On a serious note, do check emails from vbulletin at regular interval because they contain important announcement regarding bug releases or upcoming versions etc. apart from that I haven't yet received any other spam/unwanted messages from vbulletin, reason enough for me to check them when they arrive once in a while.
A notice ahead of time, and in a release email. And before paying, we display the prices.

vBulletin did everything to inform the customer short of sending a singing telegram to your door.
There was an announcement months before the increase along with an email alerting customers. It's not their fault if you did not read either.
