Urgent help needed:
Is it possible to switch the ad-blocking plug-In from Outpost Pro (last 1.0 version) on or off, but separately from the rest of the rules ?
This is needed because we protect the (essential) rules (for controlling network traffic) with a password.
But very often users want to switch this plug-in on or off (because they want to control the blocking of advertisments or banner images by themselfs). This is a problem because we do not want to give them the password.
So what can we do to solve the interest conflict ???
Other than that, use something else for ad-blocking - eg. Webwasher or Proxomitron - or switching to the Mozilla browser, which has options to block images which are not local to the page.
Interesting point though - perhaps adminstrator selectable opt-out for certain features, but I can't see there'd be any chance of getting a feature addition to V1, since if you are IN support, you qualify for a V2 update.
users program for personalized blocking of specific ads.
Works well intergrated into IE6. Just rightclick on the ad and add it to AdShields blocklist.
OP for the general settings - Ad Shield for perzonalized user setups - extremly easy to handle too. continue:: We show off many of them on our annual UCD Picnic Day (last ( The less wired may request any of these files in hard copy from the El Cerrito mail address. http://www.chac.org/engine-ascii/engv1n2.txtHOME | SOLAR CITIES: March 2008:: expensive programs (dont forget to download the .nif export plug-in for Blender! getting your simulacra on youtube as efficient and easy as possible. http://solarcities.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.htmlHOME |
One more program - but a good one - and maybe solution to your problem.

Hi Peter,
I can certainly see where that would be useful. Unfortunately, I know of no way to accomplish this task. And of course, I have no idea what Agnitum's response would be to a request to implement such a feature in V1. But any way you look at it, this would be an excellent feature request, especially for cases where Outpost is used in a managed network. The only suggestion that I can give is that you contact Agnitum directly concerning this request and go from there. I will also forward this thread to Agnitum.
Have a good day. :)

That's exactly what I need, selectable opt-out for certain features.
We do not want to update to V2 until it (the new version) reaches a stable state, that means NOT I am not trusting the new version, but in an industrial environment you do not want to surprise users with any kind of failures you can avoid. Also we are not happy with many updates, that means update cycles are very conservative planned, not more than a handful in a year.
So I will wait for the next build and then I will *think* about switching many users to a new version. Until that I need a solution for version V 1.0.1817.x and not for V2.
Regards
Peter
