After seeing the trailer, it looked rather interesting despite negative reviews. Granted, this movie is a completely unrealistic zombie film...but I think that was the producers intent. The movie starts off with these strange comets hitting this red neck town in the middle of nowhere. Then, various towns people start to somehow mysteriously turn into flesh eating zombies. The characters are a little nutty and sometimes goofy...and the camera effects that were used in the movie made the zombies come off a bit corny at times, too. Again, whether this was the producers intent... I don't know. Anyways, the music was kinda on the camp side, as well. However, I actually found the ending of this film to be refreshing and unique despite all the other horrid things I didn't like about it overall.

I can tell ya this much....
Undead is 1 million times better than Van Helsing hands down, thats for sure.

From Australia comes a zombie flick written and directed (among other things) by the twin brothers Michael and Peter Sperig.
The Story: Meteorites pepper the small town of Berkley, which in turn, start to turn the townspeople into flesh-eating zombies. The thrown-together survivors try to escape the carnage when even weirder things begin to happen . . .
What I liked:
The character Marion - a kickass gunsmith who everyone thinks is a loon.
The character Rene - a former beauty queen who tries to escape her 'past' who becomes a uber zombie fighter.

The 3-in-1 Shotgun that Marion uses . . .
The interesting take on the zombie outbreak (and its resolve) . . .
What I didn't like:
Some of the characters seemed a little cliche - for example, I couldn't wait for the constable to bite the dust (though irritating, he was a little funny). . .
The pacing seemed a little slow in the middle, the editing could have tightened that up a little . . .
Bottom line - a good first (indie) effort from the Sperig Brothers.
The DVD has some nice special features - including some camera tests they did, as well as, showing how they made their own dolly and crane - pretty cool stuff for the wannabe filmmakers out there.
I would give it a 7 out of 10 Stars!

In light that it was their first film... I would have to give it more praise then. I really loved the aliens speakin' at the end. They were talkin' some s--t that was really funny.
I just truly cracked up at that!

I couldn't get into the humor, ruined some of the 'fun' watching this. Other than that it looks neat and some of the effects are excellent considering the budget. Pretty tight zombie action at times, and a mindblowing WTF? ending.
