How will the currant financial turmoil affect the payouts of polices due to mature 2009/2010

With Profit Endowments accrued Profits every year and over recent years have been lower than Bank & Building Society rates i.e very poor. All previous declared bonus's are guaranteed once declared so the bonus you have on your Policy can not reduce below last years declaration even though stocks & shares have lost over 30%.

If you ask your Insurance Company they will actually give you an up to date value of your policy ie including 2007 bonus declaration. This amount will not reduce no matter what happens to the currant and future financial turmoil. Surrender Value is more than maturity Value- can this be right? Help ::

If markets fall it is likely your endowment will fall.
Your insurance company should have advised you on your yearly profit which has accumulated over the time of the policy. It is unlikely to have been a lot in recent years, let alone the current crisis.There will certainly be no final bonus.
