im wanting to turbo my d16, im planning on running around 8psi, is that too high??? my motor isnt built at all. i just want to make it a little quicker and im not into swaps
8 psi is not high for ur motor it would work great u can go up-to 10psi easy but don't go anywhere too close to 14+ it would work but u will have very high wear and tear of motor. and try to use the best engine oil possible i know tat fully synthetic engine oils are very expensive but if u want power u need to put some money. Get a compression test done on your engine, before you go any further. The last thing you'd want to do is to turbocharge an engine that has blown valve seals or piston rings. PSI really doesn't mean a whole lot. Different turbos flow completely different from other turbos. So 8psi on one turbo is completely different from 8psi with another. If you're going to turbocharge your car, you need a decent engine management system. Simply slapping on a turbo kit and going, is how most people blow up their engines. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing right. Even if you went with a Greddy turbo kit, at least it comes with the emanage system.
D series cant handle turbo you will just blow up your engine
check on homemadeturbo.com go for it it will work so long as u have a good tuner to tune the ecu.. ohterwise ur done.
