my mini is over weight and currently has access to many acres to graze but the grass is quite dry and sparse.
she is not fed anything else other then carrots and the odd bite of oats. ( she steals from the cows)
The farrier came out on tuesday and trimmed her hooves and she was fine, by friday she was foot sore, i've checked her hoof for rocks etc her hooves arn't hot to touch and she is not off her food. i wormed her tuesday too.

She has never foundered or had laminitis before. ive had few experiences with laminitis with my other mini so im aware of the causes , symptoms.
she is still walking fairly slow but thats normal, not lying down or shifting her weight. she is normal cept for walking a bit foot sore.

she could have been trimmed a little too short, or she may have a hot nail in that foot. it's also possible that she's got a simple stone bruise from stepping on a rock or something in the pasture. also, if the farrier changed her angles by too much that would make her sore for a few days until she adjusts the new angle
