so i've had a sore throat for a few days now (about 3) and a really bad cough! i mean one of those tickly coughs that will not go and i keep coughing up this green/white clumpy mucus stuff which i just spit out. the strange thing is... its got worse and now it literally so painfull to swallow. one side tends to hurt more then the other... any ideas? could it be a throat infection? The cough may be from sinus drainage irritating back of throat. Also, sputum color does not usually indicate infection. If you are having trouble swallowing, then this is serious. See a doctor right away. Increase fluid intake, and pain reliever you are not allergic to.
