the memory and hard drive is your weak spot
processor is fine
1.5 GB of ram went out of style al long time ago cause they used 3 512 MB sticks Which Memory Stick?:: My whole Documents Folder seems to have grown to only 145mb in 15 years. . You will not notice a lag. I certainly can not discern the difference in write http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview/id/453298.htmlHOME |
that was before dual channel mode lol
hard drive most likely is 5400 rpm maybe even 4000 rpm
hard drives are always the bottle neck of any comp
except mine!! :)
600 GB raptors 10,000 rpm
make sure the disk is not fragmented - use the windows defragmentation tool - also run the file clean up - and clean the registry - your pc is probably lagging when it trying to load files from the hard drive - also make sure it has no spyware slowing it down - or processes which cut in periodically this can be anti virus scans etc View Ratings for pafalafa-ga:: I can now appreciate the results and the lag time needed to compile the Great effort to provide an acceptable answer to my somewhat vague question. http://answers.google.com/answers/ratings/users/20810098013/16.htmlHOME | Please gather data on golf training aides:: This is exactly what i am looking for, please review my other open . well first of all run disk defragmenter (start-setting-control panel-administrative tools-computer management-disk defragmenter & then select disk & run defragmenter)
if after doing this task u still face problem then uninstall unnecssary software which u have never used or use
install good anti virus, firewall & anti spyware software
your system hardware specifications are good so i think the problem is at the system setting or some file are corrupt try to us first your system defragmenter
start>>all programs>>accessories>>system tolls>>system defragmenter then choose what hardware you want to be defrag...
Yes - the Service Packs!
Windows XP usually alerts you, to notify you if you don't have the latest service pack - currently, Windows XP is on Service Pack 3!!
The only reason why it wouldn't is if you've disabled automatic updates, or have an illegal copy of Windows.
I would highly recommend going onto Windows Update (http://update.microsoft.com), doing a Custom Scan, and install anything it asks you to. Every time it asks you to restart, allow it to restart, and then load up Windows Update again. Keep doing it until there are no more updates left!
If that doesn't solve anything, then you may have some viruses, or rubbish programs from over the years, run Disk Cleanup & Defragmenter (Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk ...).
Finally, if that doesn't solve it, then it's time for a re-install. Get your Windows XP CD out, backup all of your documents, and re-install the system!!
Good luck!
It have many possible reason maybe
you can be affected by a virus
Maybe Not Enough Ram
And Your Service Pack!
thats a slow system anyway and where have you been I sugggest downloading windows updates because we are on serice pack 3 now
