| im aware that we are in a feature freeze at the moment, however, after looking at the next version of vista's media center there are some gui benefits that address ergonomic issues and optimization...
i know that the xbox offers limited power etc, especially in terms of ram however id just like to bring some ideas forward to the table that may improve xbmc.
firstly, most people run in widescreen today would the current skinning engine allow skinners to offer horizontal scrolling rather than vertical scrolling to take advantage of space? - take a look at this in action in vista and it is a concept that really works:

im not sure if the developers would be at all interested into looking at this, or this feature may already be even supported by the skin engine and its just not been explored yet.
i just feel that the concept of horizontal scrolling, especially with album and movie art works very well, and also it looks neat. really neat.
not sure if the xbox could acheive the menu transparency with the video playing in the background, but that looks very appealing, and elegant, however would this be too taxing on the system resources?
even if you are not a fan of the features ive mentioned, i urge everyone to have a peek at the next media center, it is really quite a leap forwards in terms of the gui:
