Dear Kirupa
I recently saw a really neat effect where a mask (I assume) followed the cursor over an image, where it overlapped a background image the image below became pixellated... like the mosaic filter in PhotoShop... PezCycling News - Whats Cool In Pro Cycling:: After all, what use could the team mechanics have for masking agents! us an email and we might just publish you in glorious pixelated black & white! http://www.pezcyclingnews.com/?pg=fullstory&id=689HOME |
I think I've got my head around masking, I'm not big on action scripting... is there an easy way of getting this effect?
Hope you an help,
James
Hello,
Check out this URL: www.kirupa.com/developer/...agmask.asp (http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flash5/dragmask.asp) Movie Poster Effect - Photoshop Tutorials:: Press Q to enable quick mask. From filter menu select Pixelate>>Mezzotint Press Q again to disable quick mask. Create a new layer and fill it with white color. http://www.avivadirectory.com/photoshop/movie-poster-effect/HOME | Photo-edges:: Quick Mask Mode you are in Quick Mask, Photoshop automatically replaces your Pixelate > Crystalize. Gaussian Blur. Brush Strokes > Sprayed http://web.tampabay.rr.com/ashbrook/Photo-edges.htmHOME |
I think that that site may have used two images. One for the regular image, and another image for the pixelated look. I think the mask may have either followed the mouse. That should help you get started on creating something similar to that effect. Free Photoshop Tutorials | Photoshop Lab:: Pixelated Mosaic Edges. I hope that helped. If you have any further questions or comments or, please don't hesitate to reply back or post at the kirupa.com message board.
