I am getting this error on 2-3 PDF files on my site:
[PDF plugin error] Could not open PDF file from C:Program FilesZoom Search Engine 4.0zoom_plugin.in
The files work fine through Adobe Reader V4.0-6.0 (haven't tested 7) and have even tried re-saving the file and reducing the file size to different versions (again 4-6).
Any ideas? Check if those PDF files have Adobe Security settings enabled. You can do this by opening the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat, and clicking on File -> 【Bug】 Trying to install FireFox Plug-in- Error: Mozilla FireFox :: Page 2-【Bug】 Trying to install FireFox Plug-in- Error: Mozilla FireFox not It installed perfectly AND I can now view PDF files within my browser. http://forums.foxitsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=10704&page=2HOME | Wordpress post2pdf plugin | AntonelloCicchese.com:: WordPress plugin to convert posts to pdf downloadable files. If this is not the problem, check if you are using the latest build of Zoom available. And if you are, email us with the PDF file and we'll take a closer look.
Can't zoom have a user authentication tab for PDF's to cure the above issue?
Maybe in a future version. However, there are a number of issues with doing this, such as the fact that the PDFs could be encrypted with different passwords. In which case you would have to be able to specify a different password for each file. Simply popping up a prompt is not feasible either because most users do not supervise the indexing for larger sites, and it may be scheduled to index automatically. So while this may be a possibility in a future version, it is not in our immediate list of things to do.
