I should be able to open a background image, the click "add new layer" button, and then drag an additional image into the new layer and so on and so on....the ISSUE that I am having is-----I try to drag a new image into the new layer but instead it replaces the background....it won't allow me to have two images open at once!! even when i hit file/open and select more than one image from the my pictures folder, when i click open it only opens the one of the selected images....what am i doing wrong? Are you selecting the move tool before you try to move an image onto another image? Sounds like you're forgetting to select the move tool before you try to move your image.

If you're having problems just dragging an image on top of another image, try SELECTING the image to be transferred and then just COPY and PASTE this onto the second image. This way you'll take the image via your 'clipboard' which is OK to do but dragging an image to the new background image is the better way.
