My Brother..Not looking for any sympathy.?
Published by: anonym 2010-03-18

  • When my younger brother was aged 5, took him out to play on his skateboard, and he fell off and hurt his leg, so he was taken to the hospital and given x-rays etc. After 2 weeks of tests we found out that he had a rare form of cancer in his knee. He had to undergo vigorous chemo and has been operated on over 40 times. He had to have his bone in his right leg, knee cap taken out and replaced with a metal one. This was covered by skin from his other thigh, and muscle from his shoulder. However, this got infected and had to be re done. He went through all this with a great big smile, never complaining. He then lost one of his best friends to lukemia, but still didnt give up his fight. He isnt having chemo anymore, but the muscle/ skin covering the implant has basically been eaten away by some infecton and you can now see the implant! The doctors say that they have to amputate and are having meetings now. This isnt fair. To go through all that then loose his leg? He was 9 in December.

  • Your little brother is what I call a marvelous, brave soul. His strength and optimistic attitude is to be admired and a true inspiration. You are right, it is not fair.

  • What a brave and wonderful little boy he must be, and very lucky to have a sister who loves him so much, I can tell just by the way you talk about him.All our prayers and best wishes to you both.

  • my prayers are with your brother

  • Your totally right. It isn't fair. But look at thebright side. If getting this amputation keeps him around for years and years then its a lot better than having a leg and not living long at all. Look at this as a blessing. Some people don't get that chance to live for years and years. Good luck!

  • You're right; it's not fair that he's got to go through this and lose a leg.

But he's alive; and that's what matters.

  • The same thing should happen to you. Then the world would be laughing at you more. Report Abuse

  • Life isn't fair. Bad things often happen to good people. Best of Luck, My prayers are with you and your family.

They fell quite close to my victim. I flew towards my brother and we congratulated one another by waving. However, he did not succeed in reaching the English lines. I believe the English cease to feel any sympathy for us. People were looking out for us. On the previous day the newspapers had reported my
