My son is 3 month old and he does not like to take a bottle. He was on a 4 hour schedule and it worked fine for about a month then all of a sudden he started taking only 3oz at a feeding. So we have moved him to a 3 hour Schedule. He is a big boy 97 percentile. He cries like he is hungry but again he will only take about 3-4oz. If we keep on with him and listen to the shrill cries he will take it in about and hour. I have asked the Dr about about maybe starting him on cereal and they do not agree. Does anyone think that there is something wrong with him or is he normal?
Did the doctor mention that he may have acid reflux? perhaps switching his formula to Similac Sensitive or Enfamil gentlease.. his tummy may hurt My Baby Won't Stop Crying:: But anything that you eat that your baby is allergic to can cause problems, Now that doesn't mean she won't cry, as I'm sure you have figured out. It's possible he may be cutting a tooth and his gums are sore. I would also suggest the possibility of mild acid reflux, but you seem to have already discussed that with his pediatrician. My 5 month old cries some when she eats and she's breast fed. She doesn't have reflux, but she has been gnawing on her fists and biting down on everything lately. I would venture to say both our babies are teething, even if they haven't cut a tooth yet.
Try chilling a teething ring in the fridge or getting a wash rag under cold water and rubbing his gums. These seemed to give my daughter relief.
