WAIT! Child abuse is worse. Just thinking about it makes me want to cry.
My two biggies are access to healthcare, and separation of church and state (which includes homophobia).
It's stupid and backwards that some of the sickest people in our society cannot get health insurance to cover them. And that many people get really sick because they can't afford to be seen by a doctor. And that as a result they get scammed by people selling placebo remedies.

It's also stupid that fundamentalists want to write their religion into our government, when we have people of all different faiths and non-faiths in our nation. It's also dangerous.

There are many social issues that bother me more than homophobia, but they are ALL inter-related (even guns!).
The issue is...fear.
People allow themselves to be manipulated by fear. Hate stems from fear. It's...inane. Homophobia is just one, small example. Racism, classism, sexism...the list is nearly endless.
seperation between church and state..there isn't one..and that's my issue. And guns....except paintball guns cuz i like paintballing.
The problems with the US prison system and criminal justice system are up there pretty high. I am actually involved in some criminal justice reform now, and will be working full-time for it once I am done with college.
Problems with our first amendment rights, such as laws being passed that censor us, I hate censorship... separation of church and state.. as others have mentioned there isn't one when our Constitution clearly states there should be. This is coming from a Christian as well.
