The answer to whether living life with high standards is good or bad is relative to what you are referring to. For example, if you have a high standard of torturing people, then is it really good that you have a high standard? On the other hand, if you have a high standard of helping other human beings by any means possible, then is it really good that you have a high standard? OK, aside from these extremes, what I am trying to say is if you set your standards high on your own personal achievements but not on contributing to the human race, you are not been significant to anyone but yourself. If you take comfort in this, then to make matters clearer, the good is relative to what you make it.
Its only good if you have the means to support a high standard of living if not then its silly to make an assumption that is unless you are trying to pursue a life that will provide you the ability to have a high standard of living. Some ppl should be more ambitious but put work into actually being where you desire to.
Your success will have nothing to do with your options but with the energy and drive that you apply to it.
You can date a beautiful or plain person but if you don't work at the relationship everyday, you will be dropped like a dirty shirt.
