I made a bunch of cinamon rolls, I want to freeze some, should they be baked first ?
Published by: jack 2010-03-16

  • They are rising now ..

  • bake them first

    tehy will be fresher

  • No, you don't have to bake them first. Just make sure you have them wrap tight so no air get to them.

  • i wouldnt think so.
    but ive never done it.
i would assume you should freeze them before they even rise.

and then when you thaw them you should let them rise and then bake them.

but like i said - ive never done it.
cook them all and make the next door neighbors night!!

  • You can bake them and freeze them (unglazed). Or you can roll them out, put them in a pan, wrap them and freeze them too (unbaked). If you put them in the freezer unbaked, you are going to need an hour to let them defrost to room temp before baking. (so they get a slight rise as well).

  • Bake and cool rolls as directed, do not glaze. Wrap in moisture and vapor proof wrap. Seal, label, and freeze for up to 3 months.

To reheat in a conventional oven, wrap frozen rolls in foil. Place in a 350 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until warm. Drizzle with your choice of glaze.

To reheat in a microwave oven, wrap 2 of the frozen rolls in microwave-safe paper towels. Micro-cook on 100% power (high) for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until warm. Drizzle with glaze.

  • Yes. Bake them first.
It is like mushrooms. You cannot freeze them unless you cook them first. Otherwise the mushrooms and your rolls will turn to mush. Trust me.

  • Freeze them before they rise. When the dough is made and rolled with cinnamon. cut them and freeze them so that you can pull them out and proof them when ya want
