I am setting out to write an intranet application using Ext Desktop. There will be a few user groups that will use this set of utilities.
In an ideal world I would like to be able to only show certain menu items / icons based on their role. For example if I was a sales rep I wouldn't be able to see certain icons at all rather than disabling things in the HTML. So they don't even know that the option is available. Another case would be read vs. read / write access where I could make the text boxes read only, etc.
I want to try and do this with out having completely separate interfaces if possible and limit of not eliminate any duplicate code. Does anyone have any suggestions / best practices?
Thanks!
