You could use photoshop!

Besides picnik the best free editing site I found was Photofiltre. You have to download it but I think adding brightness makes it look a lot better. How to edit pictures that are posted in a Google Album - Picasa Help::

There are several websites in which you can go and edit your pics... alot of my friends like to use photobucket these days... however i really reccomend that you download gimp it is much better and once you download it you wont need to be on the internet... there are alot of wonderfull resources for gimp and they are just like photoshop so if you want a much better way of creating check out gimp...
