Can you provide access to this underlying object, or, can you explain what would be the preferred method of accessing the date values, or adding listeners to the date picker?
Thanks!

You can use the field's DateTimePropertyEditor to configure the format:
dateField.getPropertyEditor().setFormat(f);
Yes, but unfortunately "setStartDay" and "getStartDay" aren't offered by the DateField.
BTW, is it possible to get a method like "setFormat(String format)" which allows defining a date format?
Thanks!

Use field.getValue() to get the date and you can listen for the Change event on field to know when the value changes.
