The ComboBoxField does not behave correctly at all. Here are the problems:
1.) When using the keyboard, the when the setallowedBalnk and the forceselections are set to true it should allow you to type the first character and get you to the selection. Currently you have to either use your mouse or type down arrow a bunch of times to get to the desired value. In the case of list states its extremely unusable.
2.) Also, when you are using the arrow keys, in a normal combo box if you make a selection and type tab, the selection is made. With gxt, you must first hit enter and then the selection is made. this is really annoying to our users.
3.) Also, when you use emptyText property, and then later select a value, Combobox still shows the value dimmed down like the empty text value. if you tab to it and out it becomes normal again..
I cannot release anything with all of these problems. Please address them.
Manuel
Darrell,
#2 does not seem to be fixed. The correct behavior for hitting tab while the combo box is expanded and an item is selected, is for the item to be selected and set as the value. This is not happening. I must first hit enter and then tab out. In fact the selection should be made unless irclogs.ubuntu.com/2008/03/15/#ubuntu 1.txt:: if I close the apperacne dialog and reopne it forgets! It became unresponsive and I kept hitting the reconnect button to no avail http://irclogs.ubuntu.com/2008/03/15/#ubuntu+1.txtHOME | trac.gajim.org/report/2?format=csv&USER=anonymous:: When my computer is completely disconnected the Gajim tray icon still The combobox contains the discovered IRC & MUC components and MUC services http://trac.gajim.org/report/2?format=csv&USER=anonymousHOME | is pressed. So an easier implementation is just to change the value with the current selected item and role back on escape.
#3 appears to be fixed. Thank you.
Thanks in advanced,
Manuel
1.) Will be fixed in 1.1 (grouped with new auto complete and auto fill features)
2.) Fixed
3.) Fixed
Changes are in SVN.
BTW, it would be good that when dropping down a combobox (or a datefield, TriggerFields in general) and hit the escape key, that the current selecting will be aborted.
Is this possible?
Thanks!

I further testing with Firefox and noticed that it works there in the sense that it ends up selected the value the was prepicked when you tab out. However, its still very confusing as the value does not change with the selection such as normal html dorplists work until you tab out.
With Safari the selection does not work at all unless you press enter and then tab out.
This is in Version 1.1 from SVN from July 22
