I'm trying to display numeric values as 90 (+1) or 90 (-0.98) within a cell where the values within the parenthesis are colored in red or green (just like watching the stock prices real time).

Sorry, Evant, this seems to be a PEBKAC issue. The style is being applied correctly. It's just that my color selection doesn't out well against the background. Changing the contrast worked.
1) Use a span

2) Attributes should be in double quotes, not single.
Sorry, I'm new at this. I'm assuming you mean what the Style pane shows when I have the div selected on the left.
If so, it correctly shows the class

}
but the color line isn't crossed out (not sure what that means)

Thanks Evant.. Using span fixes the problem where the value is displayed in 3 lines.
But the colors still don't show up.
