can i have lynx as a pet? is it illegal or something? i have the proper food, ryt money shelter and etc for it,.
It depends on where you live. There are both state, county and even city laws which you must follow. In many states it is illegal, but not all of them. Contact your local animal control to find out what your laws are.
idk, can u?
NO you cannot have a lynx as a pet. It is not a pet or a domesticated animal, it is wild and it will stay wild. It is not going to walk on a leash and it is not going to go to the litter box and it is not going to learn any sort of tricks. It will grow and become very dangerous. It will be able to do you serious damage. It very well could kill you and perhaps even eat you. IT is not a dog or a cat and not pet material. It is also illegal to keep them as they are endangered. Lynx are wildlife and come under the juristiction of the DNR. They're listed in the government pages of the phone book--call them and ask. Spiderzrule:: I can even pet them and they do not mind. Likely not, since wildlife requires special permits. IF, and I do mean IF, you can get one, you'll also need to pay much higher homeowner premiums with your insurance as it would require a special rider. Otherwise you leave yourself wide open to lawsuits should anyone get bitten or clawed by the cat.
Plus you'd need to look at what the local ordinances in your county say about harboring exotic animals.
AND you'd need a vet trained for wildlife. That may be hard.
NO. Lynxs are wild animals and belong - you guessed it - in the wild.
well were do you live
but i will say they are wild cats so they belong in the wild.
and what if it escapes from your house and it attacks some one you could go to jail.but what if it gets out and the police needs to shot it so it will not harm no1.just get a cat that is the same color as a lynx
if you get a permit and feed it a rabbit a day
no, they need special care and I dont think its legal
its cruel, i don't know about illegal though.
They're wild animals, they should be left in the wild.
Get a cat, like a bengal or something that looks similar.
I have kept lynx as pets. I work at an animal sanctuary and we had 2 orphaned lynx cubs brought to us. I hand-raised them, so they were very tame. I don't recommend having them as pets simply because they are best left in the wild. At best you will have a tamed wild animal, not a domesticated animal. If you do get one, you are going to pay an awful lot for it.
A lynx can't kill you and eat you! I don't remember which answerer said that but it made me laugh. The average lynx weighs about 30 pounds and will lose a fight with a grown person. They can be trained to walk on a leash, can be house-trained and are basically harmless. I found them to be very manageable. Quite good pets, actually...but ONLY if you know what you're doing.
