I'm participating in my company's World Cup pool, much like the NCAA Basketball pools that happen every March.
I'm being annihilated at the World Cup Pool for my workplace. It's sad. The leading entrant so far is an unpaid intern who hasn't watched a soccer game in 5 years.
Somehow, he just knew that Ecuador would beat Poland and that Sweden's strikers would decide to suck against pathetic T&T. Bastard.

Now obviously I'm defensive because I'm biassed. But even a nutral wouldn't call T&T's performance pathetic. There was great defending, a good battle between Forwards and our CBs. We actually came closest to scoring. Sure we didn't have alot of the ball, but this result wasn't like United failing to beat an Arsenal side they completely dominated in the FA Cup 2 years ago. Short answer - I think if favors some of our players alot and all of our players a little.
Long answer...
Well, all our local based players will have an advantage in hot and humid conditions, but half of our squad or more is European based, albeit ************ European league based. However, as its the World Cup and we had a decent length training camp the players will have gotten used to the heat - usually hot conditions favor us as much as our opponents because our players even if during their developing years they spent time in that sort of climate, the get to T&T sometimes less than a day before kick-off.
I think that's the biggest factor for T&T's players - we're actually rested. We almost never play when well rested because who is going to rest their player or let him leave as soon as possible to play for a country they've never heard of?
